Happy Lesson

Our hero Chitose Hitotose has lost his folks at an early age . . . Ok . . . he's really just a high-school student . . . but he really did loose his folks when he was younger. For some reason five of his school teachers want to be his new mother . . . soooo they move in with him. All that maternal guidance and just one boy . . . OK  . . . adolescent boy. Things might be getting out of hand . . . but not in the ecchi manner that might be expected. Let's face it, being a teenager and having "MOM" keep an eye on you can be "tough" sometimes . . . but just imagine how "tough" having FIVE "MOMS" on your butt . . . ummm . . . raising you can be! Add to that the fact that they're all teachers at your high-school . . . and well . . .
You will learn!

The five Moms are: Mutsuki Ichimonji; who teaches classical Japanese, Kisaragi Ninomai; the chemistry teacher, Satsuki Gokajo; Phy-Ed, Uzuki Shitenno; Art, and Yayoi Sanzeiin; the school nurse.

There are more characters like the sweet Minazuki Rokumatsuri, Chitose's little sister, (who positively adores him.) The idol singer Hazuki Yazakura, Chitose's older sister that lives with Minazuki and is almost as zealous as Chitose's Mamas. The attractive and nosey class-mate Fumitsuki Nanakorobi, who likes the guy but she's tough on him too . . 'cause she is the class president, (totally nuts about Chitose). And the strange girl trying to  . . . take over the world(?) Kanna Togakushi . . . (Another Mama candidate or secret lover?)

I guess the guy can't catch a break . . .

. . . . he even has to sleep on the couch because his "Teacher-Mommies" have all the other rooms filled.

. . . Like any of this would be bad?

I haven't seen any information about the "Happy Lesson Advance" or "Happy Lesson the Final" over here in the USA . . .and I wouldn't hold my breath.

Upon seeing "Advance" and then "The Final" I don't hold out much hope.
Happy Lesson Advance is actually a pretty good show with some of the general goofiness that made Happy Lesson fun to watch. I thought the story line was a little better that the first series BUT they tossed in Episode 11.5 (I think) from the first series to fill space and screw up the continuity. Not that I expect great continuity from this kind of anime but to recycle episodes from series to series without so much as a couple of edits just makes me think the prodution staff is either lazy or broke.
Happy Lesson the Final starts off kind of so-so and just goes bad . . . memories of Mary Kay Laterno make this one a pain to watch as well as the feeling that they didn't get as much time and money to make the show as they might've been told.
